Enter Last Call and Ulduar

I got accepted into the guild Last Call. I have no clue how long I will be there, but I do hope that I can work my way up their tank list. It seems nice, and it is a bit casual, so I would not have to worry about real life issues interfering.

I went into Ulduar the first time on Live, in a 10 man group. We cleared to Auriaya, and then stopped for the night since I needed to make some frost resistance gear for Hodir. Bukki made out like a bandit in that run with all the warrior dps gear dropping. We are going back in tonight, hopefully we can kill all four keepers + the General.

With my initial impression, I have to say I like Ulduar. I don’t think I will get bored of it for a long time. I will be happy, as long as I kill Yogg Saron before 3.2.

There and Back Again

The school I am going to decided, in the middle of the semester, that having late classes are a waste of money. So, this means I can play wow again, and raid again.

I have to find a new guild, however.

End of WoW

Due to a cockblock at school, I have been forced to take a later class time, due to the fact the classes I need are available only at those times.

As such, my school schedule is now from 6pm to 9pm, then 9:30pm to Midnight. Effectively ending my raiding career.

This starts on 3/23.

What does this mean for me? Who knows. Maybe semester afterwards I can play wow. For now though, it is nonexistent.

Glory of the Wut?

First off, I would like to say I support this change that was posted a few days ago regarding Glory of the Raider and Heroic: Glory of the Raider.

When 3.1 goes live, the rewards for “Glory of the Raider” and “Heroic: Glory of the Raider” are being removed. These achievements will still be active, however, players will no longer receive the Plagued Proto-Drake or Black Proto-Drake for completing them. Similar to our decision to remove the Amani War Bear from Zul’Aman, the goal is to ensure that such mounts retain a degree of rarity in the game; and with raids progressing into Ulduar in patch 3.1, we feel obtaining the rewards for “Glory of the Raider” and “Heroic: Glory of the Raider” would be somewhat trivialized. For this reason we will be offering new fast mounts (310 speed) as rewards for completing select achievements associated with 10 and 25-player Ulduar.

Now, I post that I do not support this change. Wait what? How can I support and not support this change? Well, that is because I am seeing it from both sides. From one standpoint, I can see that this change would make those who have already completed it feel special, if not have their ego inflated even more. That is the only point that I give towards this change though. Sure, the people who have gotten these drakes right now may feel special now that they are going to be exclusive, but think about it Blizzard Devs, won’t they also be the same ones getting the new drakes in Ulduar too?

What Would My Fountain Coin Say?

Over at Mallet’s blog, he posted a little meme that stemmed from this blue post.

In response, I set out to create my coin, but only found one tutorial on how to make copper coins in Photoshop, which was half broken. So in the end, I just gave up and used WoWItemCreator. Without further ado, my coin!

Does Gender Effect Your Guild Leadership Success?

Yes, I completely and utterly went there, because I had to. 

Recently, after having come into a major position of power in my guild, I have found myself contemplating the many things I end up doing for the guild. 

First, I a/am/the:

1. Lead Tank of the Guild. I say Lead Tank as I know Ven hates the term “MT”, and this seems to infer more that I am the Tanking Leader, like a Class Leader.
2. Second in Command.
3. Primary organizer of the guild.
4. Recruitment Officer.
5. Only female.
6. Current acting Guild Leader of my guild.

Looking at all of that, and wondering what else I forgot to add to that list, I have began to wonder if people challenge me based on my skill, personality, or something more, such as gender. Analyzing this, I noticed that I act about the same as the other officers, and belong to the same skill level as them. That leaves me to think that the reason why I have such a hard time keeping people in line is because I am female. I could be wrong though. The only reason I am even following this train of thought is because none of the other officers have had these problems. Plus a lot of our number seem to be rather chavenistic (omg, a girl tank?!). Let me explain what happened with my latest challenger. Names of people and places have been substituted to protect the innocent.
